Day 22: Misery

May 2, 2017
Mile 268.62 Doble Trail Camp to Mile 289.94 Campsite

Today was hard. For many reasons, not just hiking. The morning wasn’t bad. We were in a pine forest around 6000 feet and the temperature was comfortable. We soon were in an old burn area and were exposed for the rest of the day. The terrain itself wasn’t so bad, mostly flat, but it was just so hot and the sun beat down relentlessly that it just drained me of any spirit. I also just felt drained emotionally.

A sunset to end a hard day.
