Day 12: Waterless

Mile 156.93 Campsite to Mile 9.10 of Fire Closure Alternate Herkey Creek Campground 

Hiked about 19 miles today with Dr. McDirty, Cougar, and Glow Worm. We had to take a reroute around an area still recovering from a wild fire and turned southwest on Fobes Trail and then followed the highway into town. We got beer, ice cream, and chips at the convenience store after a very long and hard day. I managed to run out of water earlier in the day and wound up going 5 miles on empty. We camped at Herkey Creek car camping campground and enjoyed their bathrooms and water.
